MATCH REPORT: MSEAL VS KENYA POLICE
The Seals settled for a draw against Police FC in an entertaining match played at the SportPesa Arena on Sunday, 16th June 2024.
Coach Juma Abdalla made several changes to the squad bringing in Rashid Moyo in place of John Kiplagat who was suspended for the match. Titus Kapchanga was also drafted into the starting XI after missing the last two games and so did Rajab Omar who replaced Samuel Semo in the starting lineup.
Police FC were off the block early in the match, Tito Okello managing to round off Bonphas Munyasa before slotting into the empty net in the 4th minute of the match. Police FC did enjoy much of the possession in the first 30 minutes but from the run of play, we managed to get the equalizer in the 39th minute courtesy of Brian Ochieng who capitalized on a defensive blunder from the Police. Rashid Moyo would moments later get a good opportunity to put us ahead but he couldn't find the target.
A double substitution at the beginning of the second half saw Erick Balecho and Batts Awita come in for Titus Kapchanga and Rashid Moyo respectively. Their impact was felt almost immediately. Balecho registered his 8th assist of the Season after Dennis Odhiambo headed in his delivery from a free kick in the 51st minute to take the scores to 2-1 in favour of the Seals. We however couldn't manage to hold on to the lead as Police FC found an equalizer through Tyson Otieno in the 67th minute. The match ended in a two-all draw.
With the points gained from the match, the Seals maintain their [12th] position in the league standings with 38 points. The next fixture is against Kakamega Homeboyz FC in Mumias on Wednesday, 19th June 2024.
